Polymerized Flow Snag 2, 10’35” 

 The film consists of a dialogue between meteorite fragments and the ‘fatberg’ they become part of in a sewer under the financial district of London.  

Through a jumbled amalgamation of language, the meteorite scraps tell a story of how they ended up there, while their lofty deep time origins are undercut by the messy reality of the fatberg. Their sparring dialogue explores their status as objects, leading ultimately to their merging into one entity and revolutionary eruption into the world above.  

The film is part of a body of work by Weir focused on this fatberg as more-than-human waste entity. It is proposed as hidden real underside of consumer capitalism, defined by flows and blockages underground as dark mirror to financial flows above the surface. Weir asks how to map this entity, drawing on mythic personification and ritual offerings alongside interrogating technologies such as object scanning and generative AI.
